Your friendly and helpful instructor, Chef Grace, will teach you professional cooking techniques for making a two-course meal plus how to make chili oil. First, you will learn how to make noodles from scratch for your dan dan noodle dish, which also incorporates a savory meat sauce. Then, you'll make chili oil. And last but not least, whip up a sweet egg tart.

You don't need any prior experience to learn cooking in this class, as Chef Grace makes the techniques accessible to all skill levels. This class makes a great choice if you're looking for small, intimate birthday party ideas for a food lover.

What you'll do

Learn how to make plant-based versions of traditional Chinese dishes from scratch! In this Richmond cooking class with Chef Grace, you'll incorporate time-honored techniques to prepare traditional Chinese dishes from start to finish using only vegan ingredients.

This is a hands-on cooking class, and it is beginner-friendly. Together with your classmates, you will prepare a complete two-course meal plus chili oil condiment.

You will begin with making homemade noodles for a dan dan noodle dish. Next, you will create a hearty plant based meat sauce to pair with your noodles. Also you will make fresh chili oil for the noodle. Then, Chef Grace will finish the class by teaching you how to make a vegan and gluten free steamed rice cake for dessert.

You'll leave this class with delicious vegan recipes and the knowledge of how to cook Chinese vegan food on your own. When's your next dinner party?

What you'll do

China has a rich history not only in terms of its culture but in its cuisine as well. Chef Grace grew up in Shanghai, where she discovered her passion for cooking at an early age. She enjoys sharing her love of cuisine and will guide you through preparing healthy and flavorful vegetarian dishes.

On the menu:
Tofu fritters
Burmese tea leaf salad
Stir-fried vegetables in black bean sauce

Begin your experience by learning about Chinese culture from Chef Grace. Then get cooking with all the ingredients you need for each dish. For the first course, you will create savory tofu fritters. For the second course, you will prepare a refreshing Burmese tea leaf salad. The third and final course will consist of healthy stir-fried vegetables blended with flavorful Chinese black bean sauce. If you've always wanted to learn how to cook Chinese food, this is an authentic experience with an expert teacher.

Chef Grace will prepare a treat for guests in the end and you are welcome to bring beer or wine to enjoy. At the end of your time, you'll leave with a satisfied appetite and the skills to make these dishes at home!
